The series was created for the Swedish Goethe Institute art program In Need Of Protection. It presented the body as the main topic – as something incredibly vulnerable but at the same time protective. The Pelican series refers to classical Christian martyrdom iconography to describe the immense sacrifice the Ukrainians fighting the Russian occupation are making.
The Pelican was exhibited at Sergels Torg in Stockholm in August – September 2023.
